Umphrey's McGee Brooklyn Concert reviews
Great Show, Not So Great Venue
Doom Flamingo and Umphrey's McGee did not disappoint. Great show front to back. The venue did disappoint. 1. There was at least a half inch up and down play in the balcony as people danced behind us. We had front row balcony and it really wigged us out to see and feel the balcony move up and down like that. 2. HVAC was nonexistent. People were smoking in the theater and there was no ventilation. By the end of the show, it was extremely hot and hard to breathe from the smoke. If it were a nonsmoking event, you could have fooled us. 3. The stairs on the balcony had no lighting. Only venue in Erie, Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Detroit where there was either no lighting or ushers did not light the stairs for you. I fell missing the top step on my way to see an usher in order to get one of the stupid stoned deadbeats out of my assigned seat. Really enjoyed the show and will see both bands again if I can. I will think twice if it's at the Fillmore.
